A TEST TO FIND OUT HOW CLEVER YOUR DOG IS!

It is much known that, browsing the Internet, dog owners can find many tests to see how clever their dog is. Here you'll read a popular 4-step test:

TOWEL TEST

Take a large towel or blanket and gentry place it over your dog's head. If he frees himself from the towel in less than 30 seconds, give him 3 points, • If it takes 31 seconds to 2 min-utes, 2 points. - Longer than 2 minutes earns 1 point.

TREAT UNDER A TOWEL

Take one of his favorite treats and put it on the floor. Make sure that he sees you. Then place a towel over the treat and motivate your dog to find it. • If he finds the treat in less than 30 seconds give him 3 points. • If it takes him 30-60 seconds, 2 points. • Longer than 60 seconds 1 point.

BARRIER TEST

Construct a barrier from cardboard so he can't see over It Attach two boxes to either side as support structures. In the center of the cardboard, cut a wide rectangular aperture (this way, the dog can see through the barrier but cannot physically get through). Toss a toy or treat to the other side of the barrier, or have someone stand on the other side.

• If your dog walks around the barrier within 30 seconds, give him 3 points. • If it goes around the barrier between 30 seconds and one minute, that's 2 points. • If it gets its head stuck In the aperture trying to get through, give it 1 point for the effort!

BUCKET TEST

Place a dog treat or a favorite toy under one of three buckets placed next to each other. Let the dog know which bucket the treat is under, then turn the dog away for a few seconds. Then, let it find the treat

• If it Immediately goes to the cor-rect bucket give it 3 points. • If it takes two attempts, score 2 points. • If your dog looks under the other two buckets first, that's 1 point.

SCORING AND RESULTS

• 11-12 pointst Brilliant! • 8-10 points: Well above average • 4-7 points: Average • 1-3 points: Below average • 0 points: Not the brightest kibbie in the bag, but we still love 'em!
