A new Swedish survey, published in the PLOS One, confirms once again how good a pet in the home is for the health of everyone and especially children. And not just one but, according to the researchers, the more so much better for our health.

The researcher and research author Bill Hesselmar, professor of pediatrics at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, together with his team, found that the existence of many animals in the home reduces the chances of various diseases, such as asthma, eczema and an allergic reaction to children.
For example, children aged 7-9 who shared the house with 4 pets at the age of 6 months have a 17% chance of developing the above diseases, unlike children who did not live with a pet who have 33% possibilities.
He says: "We think everything has to do with the germs and microbial constituents found in our favorite quadrupeds. We believe this is the whole issue. They shield children from diseases ".
Mimi Tang, a professor of immunology at Melbourne's Murdoch Children's Research Children's Hospital, says: "When babies come in contact with bacteria in the pet's fur and pet's feet very early, their immune system is strengthened. Ruminococcus and Oscillospira have been associated with a reduced risk of allergies and obesity. Both of these bacteria were found at twice the level of children who had grown up with a pet in the home.
Exposure to dust and other substances at an early age increases the tolerance to common allergens. And we're not just talking about allergies but also about various autoimmune diseases, obesity, bowel infections, vascular problems and more. " And he adds, "Our animals shield and protect us from diseases even when we are in our mother's abdomen. This is especially important. The basic of this Swedish research is that the more animals a child has, the better it is for his health. "
